The queen was in the day we visited Windsor Castle, though we didn't see her. If her flag is flying above the castle you know she's at home. It was a great experience being so close to royalty, but I have to admit that I was surprised to see how close the castle was to an international airport. We were lucky to get to see a partial changing of the guard. The Brits know how to do it with class!
